Brake system
The effectiveness of the brakes is an
important factor for traffic safety.
To improve effectiveness, do not brake
unnecessarily hard for the first 125 miles
(200
km) after new brake pads have been
fitted.
Brake pad wear must not exceed a
specified limit. Regular maintenance as
detailed in the Service Booklet is therefore
of the utmost importance for traffic safety.
Have worn brake pads replaced. We
recommend that you consult your Vauxhall
Authorised Repairer, who will fit pads that
have been tested and approved by
Vauxhall and guarantee optimum braking
power.
Brake pads worn to their minimum
thickness generate a grinding noise.
Continued driving is possible. Have the
brake pads replaced as soon as possible
by a workshop. We recommend your
Vauxhall Authorised Repairer.

Brake assist
Rapid powerful application of the brake
pedal automatically applies maximum
braking force amplification to achieve the
shortest possible braking distance under
full braking (brake assistant).
Maintain steady pressure on the brake
pedal for as long as full-on braking is to
continue. When the brake pedal is
released, the maximum brake force
amplification is taken away.
Adaptive brake light
During full-on braking, all three brake
lights flash for the duration of ABS control.
